SzólóDuó Festival in live!
In June 2023 SzólóDuó International Dance Festival is organized for the 24th time by Orkestika Foundation. We are pleased that after two years SzólóDuó will be held as a live event again! It is coming back from the online space to the stage, and this year exceptionally it will take place in Bytom, Poland!
The aim of SzólóDuó is to encourage beginner and well experienced creators, performers and dancers to introduce their work to the general public. The Foundation creates an opportunity during the festival to every performer to represent their artistic ideas and to receive feedback for their professional development.

Open platform for short choreographical pieces
- Open category (solo and duo choreographies)
You can apply with short solo or duo dance performances by filling the registration form and appendices – available on our website.
Solo performances can not be longer than 6 minutes, duo performances can not be longer than 9 minutes.
Video-nomination is held for applicants who are not able to participate in any pre-nomination rounds.

Criteria of the VIDEO:
Should be recorded in a black box, or under theatrical conditions
Please be aware that we are not looking for dance films but recordings of finished, lit theatrical productions!
Shot with one or maximum 2 fixed camera
Full HD 1080p quality, landscape (16:9) format
No filters, no graphic effects, no black and white, should be in color and without captions
Uploaded without a password!
Hungarian round – Audition in Hungary: 22 April 2023 (planned date)
Application deadline to the Hungarian round: 12 April 2023
Date of the SzólóDuó Competition Platform of selected choreographies: 14-17 June 2023
SzólóDuó 2023 will take place live after 2 years of being held as an online festival! This year exceptionally it will happen in Bytom, Poland!

Body_Dance_Picture – One-minute dance films at SzólóDuó 2023

You can apply to the Festival with short solo or duo dance performances under the following conditions:
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old.
- The length of a solo performance can not be more than 6 minutes and not more than 9 minutes in case of duo performances. Overrunning these time limits cause automatically disqualification of the participant
- Tools or instruments can be used in the performances but only if their installation is not taking more than 30 seconds previous to the performance.Tools (candles, water, dye) that can damage or soil the stage floor are forbidden to use!
- One choreographer/performer can apply with one solo and one duo production maximum.
- Present a complete registration material before deadline, which includes:
Filled registration form
– Link of the video
– Press-quality picture
- Accept terms of participation
The application data cannot be changed!
The foundation can not support the travelling and the accomodation expenses.
We are not able to offer a honorarium.
