BEST SOLO DANCE PERFORMANCE 2022
Stop Making Sense
choreographer, performer: Alesya DOBYSH (NL)
The intense presence of Alesya Dobysh combines openness and no compromise in one breath exhaled from her subjected body. She transgresses passionately the comfort zone and throws herself through the space at the borderline of keeping control in her Solo „Stop making Sense“. Transforming imagery from Robert Longos „men in the city“ she brilliantly exchanges the falling with super fast footwork and finds a unique language twisting and contorting her body at the same time to create an unstable ground, while keeping her physical action pure and punctual.
BEST DUO DANCE PERFORMANCE 2022
UNCIA
choreographer: Danae & Dionysios (GR) performers: Danae DIMITRIADI (GR), Dionysios ALAMANOS (GR)
In Uncia the artists follow their research about the secrets of nature and bring to us a dance with wondrous imagery and mysterious beauty. Two bodies merge into one figure, sometimes splitting up in two sometimes completely synchronous. In an unpredictable journey they guide us through poetic imagery of immense intensity. Undefinable creatures appear and transform their pulsating existence. We are enchanted by their minimalized sequence of gestural movements. The harmony of the two dancers, the dynamic shifts, the richness of detail in the sophisticated movements, the inward attention, the interdependence and the synchrony between them are both dazzling and awesome. Their precision in movement and imagery is exhilarating.
